The program
Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions
The Steps are what a member does. The Traditions are how a group stays alive long enough for the next person to find it. Both are suggestions, and both work about as well as they are practiced.

The Twelve Steps
Read the Twelve Steps on ca.org
We print the Twelve Steps word for word or not at all — a paraphrase on a C.A. website is worse than a link. The official wording lives with C.A. World Services, and it is read aloud at the start of our meetings.

The Twelve Traditions
No C.A. group has ever been destroyed by an outside enemy. The Traditions exist because of the ways groups have destroyed themselves.

As with the Steps: word for word, or a link. The official wording lives with C.A. World Services.
